Description

The fundamentals course has been developed to assist organisations to practice and test internal capability and capacity and prepare for business as usual situations or incidents, crises and emergencies. Using current national exercise principals and standards, this course incorporates the latest approaches and methods to build effective and dynamic exercise programs to maintain and enhance preparedness and readiness.

The course is highly interactive and focuses on the unique ‘D-Cycle’, an exercise development system designed to simplify the process and guide exercise practitioners.
During this course you will be trained, supported and guided to develop your own exercise plan to take back to your workplace for implementation and will receive your own workbook that you will use during the course and take with you for future reference and continued learning.

Course outline

Fundamentals of Exercise Design and Delivery is conducted over three days, is focused on the D- Cycle and follows a three-phase process:

  • Day One – Decision and Design (Phase 1)
  • Day Two – Development and Delivery (Phase 2)
  • Day Three – Determinations (Evaluation) and Deliverables (Phase 3)

Each phase is linked to the D-Cycle and learning is guided using:

  • Facilitated discussion and interaction
  • Templates and practical examples to reinforce course concepts, and
  • Workbook
